Maybe you have done some placid-water paddling and would like to moveon, or have been 'led' down white-water rivers, but don't feel confident to make your own route choices. Our 'On to White-water' courses are designed to get you paddling canoe or kayak on white-water as a self-sufficient group member.

We start on easy moving water, looking at how to optimise your strokework and covering the basic moves for river-running. A short trip downriver gives you the opportunity to practice moves for white-water, with coaching to help you analyse your technique. Strategies for safe river-running, and basic rescue, will be outlined on this trip. The second day will a river trip on grade 2 white-water (possibly with grade 3 sections, depending on conditions and ability of participants). You will be able to put everything covered on day one into practice, with more coaching to get the most out of the water.
