Mountain and Water is a family-run outdoor activity business, established in Wales in 1988.

Mountain and Water run activity days, extended holidays and courses, based in the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley, and ranging throughout Wales and the Borderlands.

Our philosophy is a relaxed approach to adventure, enjoying the countryside and respecting the environment in which we live and work. We are proud of our working environment and will share our love of the outdoors with you, alongside our technical expertise.

Mountain and Water Environmental Policy

Mountain and Water is committed to minimising the impact of our activity programme on the environment and wildlife the environment in which we operate by:

• Developing a positive awareness of the environment.

• Constantly reviewing the environmental impact of our operations.

• Systematically identifying and controlling risks to environment and wildlife, as a result of activity sessions.

• Providing information, instruction, supervision of clients and consulting with staff as necessary to minimise the impact on the environment of all activities.

Mountain and Water has signed up to the Environmental Charters of the BBNP and PCNP, and is a member of the Institute for Outdoor Learning, and Marine Conservation Society. The recommendations of these organisations are kept on file in the booking office, and, where appropriate, appended to the Operating Procedures.

 

Mountain & Water Ethical Trading Policy

Mountain & Water supports fair trade principles. Wherever possible we support local businesses, ethical businesses and use Fair Trade products.

 

Polisi Iaith Gymraeg 'Mountain & Water' Welsh Language Policy

At Mountain & Water we are proud to belong to the bilingual Welsh nation, and we support efforts to protect the future of the Welsh language. At present we are unable to offer our service in the Welsh language, but some of us speak a little Welsh. We endeavour to: use Welsh greetings alongside English; use some Welsh on our web site and publicity and use the original Welsh names for activity locations.

 

Access Statement

Our programme takes place in the natural outdoor environment, and there are no special facilities. If you have a special need, and would like to take part, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Mountain & Water is registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority to provide specified activities under the following headings: Kayaking; Open Canoeing; Improvised Rafting; Rock-climbing; Abseiling; Caving and Mine Exploration. Licence Details

Mountain & Water is an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.

Mountain and Water is a registered centre with NNAS - National Navigation Award Scheme

Institute

Mountain & Water is a member of the Institute for Outdoor Learning.

Mountain & Water are proud to support the Marine Conservation Society, the UK's leading charity for the protectin of our seas, shores and wildlife, through Institutional membership.

 Mountain and Water has joined the Brecon Beacons National Park`s Green Tourism Business Scheme, and is currenlty awaiting grading.

 

Croeso Cynnes Cymraeg Mountain and Water has completed the Croeso Cynnes Cymraeg programme.
