Archery

Saethyddiaeth

Archery is a sport with wide appeal, enjoyed by all ages, and it is an ideal activity for schools, youth groups or for entire families to take part together.

Archery can be taken as a fun activity or 'taster' session; learning the basic skills in a half-day session. It also forms part of our 'Family Multi-Activity Holiday'.

The long-bow is thought to have originated in Wales, and in the 12th Century, Giraldus Cambriensis wrote:

"The people of Gwentland are more expert in archery than those in any other part of Wales."

What better place to try the modern sport!

Archery is also available as part of one of our heritage-themed-activity days combined with other ancient arts such as coracle-building, in the context of their historical setting.
