Corporate Events and Team Work

Teams are made up of individuals, each with their own needs, abilities and skills. Searchers recognise this, and our Team Work courses are designed to help visiting delegates give their best and achieve their full potential.

Newly-formed team?

Team allocated a new leader, or new team-members?

New recruits to your organisation?

Team working towards a special target?

Whether you are looking for an informal event to help the team 'get to know each other' or a more structured team-building programme, we can arrange a course or event to suit you.

Make the most of your training budget!

On a Searchers Team Work day, you only pay for what you really need. While numerous operators offer managment development programmes, we concentrate on what we do best; the outdoor element. Our corporate clients use us like any other training resource: we provide an outdoor team-building programme to complement your training agenda, leaving your own personnel or training team to select, review and follow-up in house at YOUR convenience.

Our Outdoor Activity Programme

We are an accredited activity centre, and all activities are run by qualified and experienced staff. You may choose a single activity or multi-activity option, combining canoeing, kayaking, climbing, abseiling, wayfaring and a variety of problem-solving exercises. Alternatively, try one of our 'Off the Peg' exercises: 'Mission Entirely Possible'; 'Treasure Hunt' or 'Adventure Trail'.

new for 2006 ! - Bellboating for Teams - new for 2006 !

In Summer 2006, we are introducing a new dimension to our team-work provision: Bell-boating.

The Bell-Boat is a team boat for ALL and has been used by every section of the communities in which it has been introduced, from children to Olympic class paddlers.

The Bell-Boat is also a dynamic moving school on the water, and the raft of a philosophy of creative competition, co-operation and a systems approach to learning and working.ach Bell-Boat is guided by a trained and qualified 'helm' and this unique feature makes it possible for ANYONE to be able to enjoy paddlesport. We could, if you wish, train one or more of your staff to helm the boats themselves, enabling your team to come Bell-boating regularly on a 'hire-only' basis.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on the course?

Your group will enjoy a positive and rewarding experience, and will bring the 'buzz' back into your organisaton. How this is achieved varies from course to course; we are as flexible as possible.

Where do the courses take place?

We run courses in a variety of areas, including: Brecon Beacons, Vale of Neath, Snowdonia, Wye Valley ...

The exact location is decided depending on where you are based, where you want to stay, and which activities you want to include in your programme.

While most clients will appreciate the opportunity to enjoy their Team-Work away from the distractions of their normal work environment, some may prefer a local course. We will be happy to quote for a course in your locality.

What about accommodation?

We have found that our clients' accommodation requirements are as varied as those for training. Some like to relax at the end of the day in a comfortable hotel with the prospect of an á la carte menu, while others find that self-catering extends the team-building experience. For this reason, our courses are arranged on a non-residential basis, allowing you to select the accommodation that suits you best. Hotels, self-catering, bunk-houses and camping are all available throughout Wales. Maybe you already have a favourite venue? If not we will be happy to help you find suitable accommodation. Check our Accommodation page.

If you want to maximise the outdoor experience, you may wish to try our 'Team Camp'.

Will it be an outdoor activities course?

Outdoor activities such as canoeing, mountaineering and orienteering play an important part in many of our courses, but there are other options! Outdoor activies are not invariably an end in themselves, but can be integrated with initiative and problem-solving exercises into a structured programme including feedback and discussion time.

Adventurous activities are led by appropriately qualified instructors and conform to governing body guidelines.

How strenuous are the courses?

Our team-work courses are not endurance tests! Any reasonably fit person should be able to complete one of our 'Off the Peg' courses comfortably, and we can adapt a course to suit older or less fit teams, or teams with a wide range of ability and fitness. Your group will not be asked to run miles across country or swim frozen lakes, but must come prepared to be outdoors all day in inclement weather, and to cope with occasional duckings (you can specify how 'wet' you want the course to be!). Medical conditions must be notified in advance of the course.

When are you open?

Our 'Team-Work' programme is available all year, except for our Xmas-New Year holiday (12 December -12 January). The exact programme for any 'Team Work' course is decided with the weather in mind!
